Naming convention for SAS Fifth Dimension
In the IBM TSO programming environment each user is given a five character TSO ID to control the resource consumption by an individual user. To follow the standard constraints placed on a user, all data sets allocated and cataloged will have the TSO ID as the first node of the Data Set Name. Another convention at many offices is that Batch jobs initiated by user must start with the user's TSO ID. Since each job starts with the user's TSO ID, the job names for each user are unique by the last 3 characters of the job name.
SAS Fifth Dimension allocates data set with the third node of each data set to be the last 3 characters of the job name to separate data set created by a job.
